Matley Professional Services is led by Richard Matley. A self-recognized word-nerd, Richard has chosen to take his annoying habit of seeing all the mistakes on the written page and make it a benefit to those who can use this vice.

With twenty years in education from elementary to higher education, Richard has taught his fair share of students the glories of grammar and punctuation. For years, he has been a resource to friends and coworkers for their publication review needs and the source of irritation for many a text-messager (yes, he spells out every word).

Proofreading services are specifically focused on catching errors on completed material. This includes providing insights on proper grammar, punctuation, word spacing, footnoting, checking site links for accuracy, page formatting, verbal agreement, and word usage.

The purpose of proofreading is to provide a final cleanup of the written material prior to publication or submission.

Editing

Editing services are specifically focused on layout, balance, improved sentence structure, improved overall messaging, and overall alignment of layout with the purpose of the material being presented. This is a service that reviews drafts of material rather than creating material.
